We are heading west!

When I bought the van in 2017 I was thinking of a National Parks book that my father got for me as a gift. The book has large colorful landscape photographs, historical accounts of the foundation of a park system, and interviews with scientists, writers and advocates.

Four years later I have finally finished the van (currently living in it full time) and am ready to see some new places.

This is a brief introduction to the trip—more to come later—below are the parks that I’ll be visiting. The route is a giant loop that starts in Maine and ends back in New Hampshire.

Acadia National Park

Rocky Mountain NP

Yellowstone

Grand Teton NP/National Forest

Zion

Arches NP

Bryce Canyon NP

Like the Appalachian Trail portion of this project, I’ll be writing and the posts will be influenced and inspired by conversations I have along the way.
